| Today we talked about pixels. Pixel is the small part of image. Each pixel is a bit of information. Pixels are forming the picture. Resolution means how many pixels do you have per inch or it could be centemetre. Resolution can be high, which means there are a lot of pixels per square inch, or low, the opposite to high. Standart qualities are: 72 pixels per squre inch for internet purpose, and 300 for printing. You do not want a big image for uploading it on the internet because it will take time to download. But when you are printing something you want to have a high quality image , because othervise it would not turn out lookin good. You can use different types of programes to save your image with. There are two main types: lossy type of programs, JPEG is the most well cnown example of this type, and loss less programs. Every time you save your image n JPEG format, it compresses it, by makin pixels of simmilar color the same. By doing thart image becomes smaller, like 1 MB instead of 6MB. So if you are creating professional work you should use loss less programs for saving images. |

Today we covered basic tools of photoshop. The toolbar panel on the left side has a bunch of different tools on it. We talked about the importance of using layers, so that if you mess something up, you don't have to start doing your work all over again. Then we discussed the rules of composition. The rule of three, work that way, that you divide the picture in 9 suares n you place the stuff you wanna be the main parts of picture not in the centre but in the intersections. You also might wanna have diagonals in your image, that makes it look nice. Also if you have somebody in the picture, you want them to look inside the picture not outside, because othervise the viewer gets the feelin that something important is not in the picture. Also movement is important, you want to have some sort of it in your picture.

We have talked about photoshop, and color theory. Color theory is based on 16 based number system. So in the number system we are using, you have ten, then hundred, then thousand, then ten thousan, and etc. In 16 based number system, you have 1, then 16, then 256. Numbers after 9 are represented by letters, from A to F. So the biggest number you cam get is FF which is 255. That's why there are 255 different shades of color. There are three primary colors: Reed, Green, Blue. All together they make white. Each shade of color has its own code, which is made using 16 based number system. So if you need one color in two different files, you can find it by its code.
